Imaging speed at the speed of light! Or, at 500k frame per second (still very impressive). Read the article here.

Hongwei Chen and colleagues at Tsinghua University in Beijing ... have built a simple 3D imaging system that records movies at a frame rate of 500,000 frames per second. What’s more, they do it with a system that uses single pixels to record the images.... The new approach records light using single pixels produced with a completely different underlying technology that refreshes at a rate of 500,000 frames per second.

A software company called Sensory has developed an AI that can identify the sounds it hears and take action if needed. It says the technology, called TrulySecure Sound ID, is like "Shazam for sounds in the home."
